What type of insurance broker do you need...

Just as there are many types of insurance policy, there are a number of different types of insurance broker. To help you decide what is the right type for you, we have listed some of the main categories below:

Community broker
The independent community broker is found in your local town, providing expert advice face to face, over the telephone and often on the Internet. Generally found in your local high street, this traditional form of insurance broker will offer a personal service for most insurances, including car, home and business.

Telebroker
As the name would suggest, a telebroker conducts a large proportion of their business over the telephone (some will also offer Internet services). They tend to specialise in personal insurance such as car, motorcycle and home. However, you will not be able to have a face to face meeting with most of these at anytime.

Internet broker
The newest form of broker is the pure Internet broker. There are fewer of these, but they provide access to insurance broker services direct to you over the 'Net' and have low overheads. Purely Internet based, they do not offer a face to face service and often will only deal with you through the Internet.
